It's Inga from Around the Farm Table.
I want to make for you today a butter board.
This is kind of a different take on a cheese board, where I get to use one of my favorite ingredients, which is really good butter.
Now, if you happen to have a herd of Jerseys, go ahead and make your own butter.
If not, shop locally to find the best quality unsalted butter you can find.
Butter boards are all about fun combinations.
This is where you can really use your creativity to highlight the ingredients that you love.
Today, I'm gonna be making my butter board with crumbled blue cheese, some Wisconsin dried cranberries, toasted walnuts, a little bit of lemon zest, and some local honey.
Now let's get started!
You'll wanna start with room-temperature butter and a really beautiful platter.
Place your butter directly on the platter, and you can kind of make some beautiful waves or make the butter look however you'd like it to look.
Then a good sprinkling of kosher salt.
Next, we'll add our crumbled blue cheese.
Some lemon zest.
Some toasted walnuts.
And now some cranberries.
Dried cranberries go really well in this flavor combination, and they also give it a nice accent of color.
And a delicious drizzle of local honey.
A nice, good, brown bread will go delicious with your butter board.
Now how fun is that?
I can't wait to see what you all come up with for your own butter board creations, and I hope you'll gather with us next time, Around the Farm Table!
